We propose and demonstrate a rather simple method to generate a Bessel-like beam by using a graded-index multimode fiber.

We splice a single-mode fiber and a graded-index multimode fiber with a defined offset (螖x=20 渭m), adjust the length (L) of the graded-index multimode fiber to be 400 渭m, and then we can produce a Bessel-like beam with the transverse acceleration of 0.15464 渭m-2, which is higher than which is almost 100 times larger than that of the beam generates in the free-space optical circuit based on the lens.

The Bessel-like beam has the transverse self-accelerating properties which provides a new method for micro particles to be transported in a bending trajectories.

This transverse self-accelerating Bessel-like beam generator based on the graded-index multimode fiber constitutes a new development for high-precision micro particles experiments and manipulations (realizing the micro particle passing over the obstacles by using the transverse acceleration of the Bessel-like beam) with its simple structure, high integration and small size.
