Zirconium phytate (ZrP) was prepared as a novel inorganic-organic proton conductor. Tuning Zr/P molar ratio enhanced the proton conductivity and avoids acid leaching. ZrPA(3:4) exhibited an ion exchange capacity of 1.04 meq/g at room temperature. High proton conductivity at high temperature and different humidity were achieved.
