Chrysoperla externa is important in conservation biocontrol in South/Central America. C. externa adults are dependent on floral resources for proteins and carbohydrates. Adult insects were attracted to and fed on flowers of dill, coriander and fennel. All plants exerted similar effects on insect longevity and reproductive parameters. Reproduction up to generation F3 was supported by resources provided by these plants.
