A novel pitch MPC scheme has been proposed for large wind turbines. Extensions to continuous - time MPC are considered. The proposed MPC has a fast execution time due to its explicit nature. A tube based MPC approach is designed to handle the uncertainties. The proposed MPC algorithm has been tested using a 5-MW wind turbine.
