Developed a data driven approach to determine setpoint controls for individual zones. Minimized heating/cooling loads based on occupancy transitions for a period of time. Coupled Variable Neighborhood Search and a heuristic update for control optimization. Quantified the relationships between occupancy transitions and heating/cooling loads. Used a DOE reference building and a real building for occupancy-loads analysis.
