PEGylated liposomes allow a suitable delivery of ATRA. 200 nm-liposomes are more stable in 60% FBS than 100 nm-liposomes. The encapsulation of ATRA did not influence the size of liposomes. The liposomal encapsulation of ATRA allowed an increase of its anticancer activity.
