VNIRS spectra were obtained from paper mill biosolid-amended agricultural soils. We predicted total, M3, DTPA and H2O-extractable soil heavy metals using VNIRS. Good to excellent predictions were obtained for total, M3 and DTPA extracts. Local models generally gave better predictions than models based on total dataset. SOM was the major predictive mechanism for Cd.
