Point and scanning method by using portable gas detector are proposed. Scanning method could capture a lot of hot spots than point method. Ambient methane concentration and flux had a significant positive correlation. Methane emissions estimation from scanning method was higher than point method. Scanning method could be used to estimate methane emissions in landfill.
