An electrochemical biosensor was developed for detection of silver ions. Combination of bio-bar code assay and silver enhancement could significantly amplify the electrochemical signal. Biosensor exhibits excellent sensitivity and selectivity due to high specificity of the C-Ag+-C and silver enhancement. The proposed biosensor might hold great promise in environmental monitoring of silver ions.
