Enzyme assisted extraction improved biochemical activity of tomato peel extracts (ETE). ETE to protect L6 myoblasts from H2O2 induced oxidative damage was investigated. ETE significantly improved cell viability and decreased ROS production. ETE protected DNA damage and mitochondrial membrane potential significantly. ETE can counteract the redox imbalance in cells induced by oxidative stress conditions.
