Green roof substrates: Effect of recycled crushed porcelain and foamed glass on plant growth and water retention
详细信息    查看全文
文摘
Compared heat-expanded shale, crushed porcelain, and foamed glass as substrates. Evaluated substrate moisture content, plant growth, and chlorophyll fluorescence. Basil and stonecrop accumulated the most total biomass when grown in shale. Water retention could be improved with small particle sizes of porcelain. Use of porcelain could reduce embodied energy required to construct a green roof.
