•: High- (HT) and low-tannin (LT) faba beans (FB) were added to finisher turkey diets.
•: Dietary FB inclusion at up to 300 g/kg had no influence on the growth rate of birds.
•: FB did not affect carcass traits or the chemical and sensory properties of meat.
•: Unlike HT diets, LT diets improved the feed conversion ratio.
•: The breast meat of turkeys fed HT diets was darker than that of birds fed LT diets.
