Salicylic acid (SA) treatment can significantly reduce the rot rate of postharvest citrus fruit.

SA treatment maintained fruit firmness, and induced accumulation of H2O2 and several metabolites.

Lipophilic polymethoxylated flavones were accumulated in SA-treated fruits.
