Based on the GGA calculations, Pt-Pd-ZrTiAl Heusler alloys have been investigated. The magnetic and mechanical properties for Pt-Pd-ZrTiAl are studied. Half-metallic ferromagnetism in Pt-Pd-ZrTiAl alloys is established. The total magnetic moment follows a Slater–Pauling-like ``rule of 18”.
