We compared characteristics of high-performance concrete (HPC) made with coal cinder (CC) and/or waste foundry sand (WFS).

The total surface free energy of HPC mainly depend on the content of CC.

HPC with 30% CC has more micro-cracks and micro-pores than HPC with WFS.

Simultaneous action of CC and WFS improves resistance to salt crystallization.

Freezing – thawing resistance is slightly worsen for HPC with CC and WFS.
