Little is known about the cortisol levels in skin mucus as stress response of fish. Skin mucus and surrounding water are a good matrices where to measure cortisol. Some immune parameters evaluated in skin mucus seem good indicators of stressful situations. This study represents an advance on the interaction of stress and mucosal immunity in fish.
