•: The valence of scene in which faces are embedded may differently modulate ERPs component during memory control.
•: faces-in-neutral-scenes show larger N2 amplitude for to-be-forget (TBF) items and enhanced P3 for to-be-remember (TBR) items.
•: faces-in-positive-scenes show larger N2 amplitude for to-be-remember (TBR) items and greater P3 for to-be-forget (TBF) items.
•: faces-in-negative scenes did not show differences in the N2/P3 and LPP-like components.
