Morphological influence of TiO2 nanostructures (nanozigzag, nanohelics and nanorod) on photocatalytic degradation of organic dyes

Glancing angle deposition technique is used to fabricate various columnar nanostructures in a single step to tune physiochemical properties. Enhanced surface area induces porosity, with dispersion of active sites at different length scales of pores. The increase interface between nanostructures and organic dye is promising factor to enhance photocatalytic degradation. Morphologies having high surface to volume ratio increases the number of catalytic reaction sites to facilitate organic molecules adsorption favorable for reaction kinetics.
