Foam fractionation has been used to separate a material without surface activity. An industrial byproduct (yam mucilage) was used to generate a stable foam phase. Puerarin can be associated with yam mucilage by introducing a modified β-CD. Puerarin is attached onto the bubble surface in the form of ternary complex.
