The PPARγ agonists CGZ and TGZ induce apoptotic cell death in HeLa cells. CGZ or TGZ induces apoptotic cell death independently of PPARγ in HeLa cells. Inhibition of ERK1/2 enhances CGZ- or TGZ-induced cell death via the collapse of MMP.
