Peak metamorphic conditions of 8.2 kbar at 380 °C (green- to blueschist transition) Burial to 29 km and thermal gradient of 13.2 °C/km dispute previous tectonic models. We suggest subduction and exhumation of a warm forearc slice previous to 110 Ma. Major tectonic event occurred in the Hispaniola segment of the arc at 120–110 Ma. We discuss three possible tectonic scenarios that conform to new and previous data.
