POPs were detected in the air of Kolkata city and Sagar in Sundarban, West-Bengala. HCHs and DDTs showed the highest concentrations of POPs in air. The results are lower than previous studies in urban areas of India. Higher concentration of PCBs and PBDEs were detected at Kolkota urban sites.
