Human health risk assessments of metals, As and Se in Odontesthes bonariensis were investigated. Most elements measured in muscle of silverside were higher during dry season. As, Hg and Pb are the main hazardous elements for human health through silverside consumption. Children and adults should minimize the meals/month intake of silverside to avoid deleterious effects during lifetime.
