Novel flexible restraining system is proposed for dissipating ship energy using ship-independent moveable anchors. Two dimensional simplified model based on the Kane method is established to predict restraining system responses. Results from the Kane method are validated through comparison with predictions of Lagrangian method. Dynamic responses of restraining system is evaluated for a wide range of parameters.
