Heavy metals in the top 20 cm sediments showed four distributions along the belt. We observed two “hotspots” of heavy metal accumulation in sediments along the belt. Most sediment samples contained higher heavy metals exceeding TELs except Zn and Pb. As and Cd might originate from the same source and Cu, Zn, Cr, Pb, Ni from another. Heavy metals were closely linked to salinity, pH, S, Al, TP, SOM and Silt + Clay.
