A MFC using CH4 as the electron donor and the electrode as the electron acceptor was constructed. CH4 was oxidized anaerobically in MFC that produced electricity successfully. DAMO archaea were separated from DAMO bacteria. Roles of enriched Ignavibacterium and Geobacter in MFC require further investigation.
