On an evolution equation in a cell motility model

We study the sharp limit interface equation of a phase field model for crawling cell motility.

We prove existence of solutions of the sharp limit interface equation for a wide class of initial curves.

We prove that traveling wave solutions do not exist in a certain regime of physical parameters.

Numerical simulations suggest a transient drift (crawling) dependent on physical parameters and asymmetry of the initial curve.
