Phosphate uptake kinetics for four species of submerged freshwater macrophytes measured by a 33P phosphate radioisotope technique
文摘

Phosphate (Pi) uptake kinetics was determined in macrophyte root and shoot tissue.

Experiments were conducted using a radioactive 33P phosphate technique.

Roots were the dominant organ for Pi assimilation at ambient Pi concentrations.

At low water Pi concentrations L. uniflora could survive on Pi pools in sediment.

M. alterniflorum had efficient Pi uptake at low and high Pi concentrations.
