Carbon steel corrosion and product layer growth in PZ, MDEA + PZ and AMP + PZ. FeCO3 layers form in all solutions to protect steel against continuous corrosion. Layer thicknesses on carbon steel vary in different types of amine solution. Reaction kinetic rates determine the amount of FeCO3 produced and thickness.
