The transport of crystallizable molecules to the surface of an embryonic spherulite is modeled as the growth of a pure sphere in a mixture. The transport of crystallizable molecules to the surface of an embryonic spherulite in a polymer blend has a major effect in slowing the nucleation rate. The activation energy for diffusion is the major scaling factor for the magnitude of the transport effect.
