Cucumis melo germplasm were studied for resistance to Pseudoperonospora cubensis.
•
Pathogen isolates with low, medium and high virulence represented eight distinct pathotypes.
•
Race-specificity of interactions between C. melo and P. cubensis was confirmed.
•
Collectively, 45 different reaction patterns were recorded.
•
None of screened C. melo accessions expressed complete resistance to all isolates.
