An alternative approach for the incorporation of cellulose nanocrystals in flexible polyurethane foams based on renewably sourced polyols

文摘
Flexible polyurethane foam nanocomposites were synthesized from biomass derived polyols and cellulose nanocrystals. The incorporation of cellulose nanocrystals was done in aqueous suspension, avoiding the redispersion in pollutant solvents. The interactions of CNCs with the polyurethane affected nano/microstructure, foam cellular morphology and final properties. The presence of cellulose nanocrystals in foam struts was proved by infrared near-field microscopy and nanospectroscopy.
