A new lithium copper bismuth oxide, LiCuBiO4 is prepared by hydrothermal reaction. The crystal structure of LiCuBiO4 is closely related with that of LiCuSbO4. This new compound exhibits an antiferromagnetic ordering of Cu2+ moment at 6 K.
