Hetero-exopolysaccharide from Bacillus tequilensis FR9 (BtqEPS) was purified. Monosaccharide composition of BtqEPS was analyzed using HPLC. Functional groups were identified using FTIR and NMR (13C & 1H). SEM and AFM analysis showed Fibrous, porous nature of BtqEPS. BtqEPS demonstrated antioxidant activity against various free radicals.
