Aqueous processable PBDTTPD:PC71BM nanoparticles (NPs) using a high boiling solvent. PCE of 3.8%, the highest value reported for surfactant based NP solar cells. Annealing temperature and time crucial for device performance. AFM reveals active layer morphology as a function of annealing temperature and time.
