•: We evaluated for the first time the flexibility and cyclic fatigue resistance of Unicone reciprocating instruments and compared the results with those obtained by WaveOne and Reciproc.
•: Unicone showed a lower cyclic fatigue life when compared with Reciproc and WaveOne.
•: Reciproc files were more flexible and resistant to fatigue than Unicone and WaveOne.
