Spatio-temporal thermal and visual comfort metrics to be used to assess the environment. Low SHGS and high VT can be used as alternative to solar shadings. Optimal SHGC minimize the discomfort area, especially in environments with low air changes. High performance windows with low U-value seem to behave unfavorably in low WWR. Low-e window are appropriate for both north and south windows in educational buildings.
