The study investigates the issue of learning English among students in the Arab Sector in Israel where English is taught as a fourth language after Arabic as diglossic and Hebrew. A set of factors in their environment and learners’ characteristics were sought to examine their effects on learners’ attitude towards English language learning. However, some students have strengths and are very successful while others complain about weaknesses that hinder their progress. A mixed-methods approach was used: a close-ended questionnaire and semi- structured interviews were used to gauge the attitudes of parents, teachers and learners. The findings present significant facts about the English language learning profile among Arab learners.
