Electrically tunable polarization splitting and conversion based on 1DPC structure with anisotropic defect layer

Polarization splitting and conversion tunability in 1DPC structure is investigated. An anisotropic electro-optical material and the 4 × 4 transfer matrix method is used. The applied electric field creates two P and two S-polarized defect modes. The splitting of modes is increased with increasing the applied field.
