High photochemical trapping efficiency in Photosystem I from the red clade algae Chromera velia and Phaeodactylum tricornutum

文摘
Red clade algae display one of the shortest fluorescence lifetimes (τav) so far reported for Photosystem I. Due to the limited presence of low energy chlorophyll forms, the τav is constant across the whole emission range. The estimated efficiency of both isolated Photosystem I complexes is > 98%. Scission of PsaA protein has no significant impact on the overall Photosystem I functionality.
