A novel biosensor based on multiple cross displacement amplification and lateral flow technique for visual detection of nucleic acids was devised. The nearly apparatus-free platform of the assay make it practical for point-of-care testing, field detection, ‘on-site’ diagnosis and more. The assay displayed unique advantages of simplicity, rapidity, sensitivity, specificity and repeatability.
