A lactobacillus strain (L. brevis LSe tolerates 401.3 mg L−1 of SeO32−) was isolated. The performed probiotic tests revealed acceptable probiotic characteristics. DPPH assay represented moderate antioxidant activity of the Se-enriched L. brevis.
