Highly icephobic properties on slippery surfaces formed from polysiloxane and fluorinated POSS

Highly icephobic coatings were developed based on polysiloxane via hydrosilylation. F-POSS-SiH synthesized via hydrosilylation was introduced as a co-crosslinker. Self-assembled F-POSS-SiH was rich on the surface, while polysiloxane rich in the bottom. Slippery wavy surfaces were generated by the unreacted low molecular weight PMHS. The slippery coating showed extraordinarily low ice shear strength at 3.8 ± 1.8 kPa.
