Porous carbon aerogels were prepared from pyrolysis of cellulose aerogels.

Nanoneedles and nanoflowers of α-FeOOH were grown on carbon aerogels.

Carbon aerogels supported α-FeOOH acquired a high SEtotal of 34.0 dB.

Adsorption-dominant shielding mechanism was acquired for the composite.
