Thermal Deformation of Multi-flow Rectangle Channels of Water-cooling Radiator

Thermal deformation and stress of the radiator affect the structural stability and heat dissipation ability of the radiator. The thermal displacement of water-cooling radiator, von Mises thermal stress and thermal displacement of the fixing bolts are analyzed by the thermal-structural coupling approach of ANSYS in this paper. The simulation results show that the thermal deformation of the radiator is evident and nonuniform. The thermal displacements of the inlet zone are larger than that of the outlet zone, the central zone exhibits the largest displacements and trends to generate crack. Moreover, thermal displacements of fixing bolts are small but its maximum von Mises thermal stress may exceed the yielding strength of the material.
