Disease progression and oxidative stress are associated with higher serum ferritin levels in patients with multiple sclerosis
文摘
Ferritin and iron homeostasis have been implicated in the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis. Hyperferritinemia is associated with disease progression in multiple sclerosis patients Hyperferritinemia is associated with oxidative stress markers in multiple sclerosis patients. Increased oxidative stress was shown by elevated serum AOPP levels and reduced NOx and TRAP levels. The combination of serum ferritin levels and oxidative markers were responsible for around 14% in the disease progression.
