Frac flowback water quality was characterized as a function of well age and pH. Inorganic ions were examined with a temporal variable for different frac fluids. Total dissolved solid (TDS) with key ions were fitted to a nonlinear regression model. Water quality parameters with respect to time were fitted to a nonlinear regression model. A mass balance was used to determine non-formation element recovery.
