Completed the synthesis of l-1-deoxyallonojirimycin, with an overall yield of 19%. Palladium-catalyzed intramolecular ring forming aminoacetoxylation is the key step. The l-1-deoxyallonojirimycin showed moderate inhibitory activity. Mechanistic explanation has been given for the key step.
