N2O formation over 10% Mn/Fe–Ti spinel through the E–R mechanism is cut off.

NH3 and NH2 on 10% Mn/Fe–Ti spinel can be hardly activated by Mn4+ on the surface.

NH3 activation is promoted due to the acceleration of Fe3+ regeneration by Mn4+.
