A new model for diode-end-pumped solid-state laser systems is developed, which is both applicable to laser oscillators and amplifiers.

The influences of pump beam quality, ground state absorption and depletion and energy transfer upconversion are included in our model.

The mathematical technique of generalized minimal residual method is used to accelerate the algorithm.
•
A spatial mesh iteration algorithm is designed to analyze the temperature dependence of absorption and emission cross section.
•
Our model is more consistent to real experimental conditions and has better theoretical accuracy than traditional models.
